Frequently Asked Questions
What do I pack?
Pack your personal essentials and check the weather before your arrival. Michigan can cover all 4 seasons in one day sometimes.
Extras you will want to add to your overnight bag include bug spray, sunscreen, extra drinking water, snacks, (a cooler with food or make dinner plans in town- lots of local dining recommendations below), comfortable walking shoes or boots, swimsuit and beach towel for a Sauna session or a day at the lake, and, of course, a good book.
What about food?
You are welcome to cook over the fire, reserve a picnic dinner with us, or go to one of our many local dining spots at Boyne Mountain, Boyne City, Walloon, Gaylord, Petoskey, Charlevoix or Harbor Springs. You won’t go hungry - we promise.
Breakfast is delivered to your Glamping site at 8:30 each morning and includes a homemade bagel and coffee/tea.
Are there bugs? bears? coyotes?
YES! This is nature - unfiltered. We have bugs, bears and coyotes. Wildlife will leave you alone here if you leave it alone. Be sure to secure all trash cans with the lid as tight as possible and do NOT leave any food at your site. We always recommend doing a tick check if you go hiking through the woods during any season.
Can I bring a pet?
Unfortunately, absolutely no pets are allowed at any of our sites. We have free range chickens, barn cats, and a farm dog of our own if you need some animal love during your stay.
Where do I park?
We have a parking lot dedicated to our Glamping guests with its own entrance marked “parking”. Be sure to let us know your ETA and we will plan to meet you in the parking lot with our golf cart to take you and your luggage up to your Glamping site. We can assist you down at check-out as well. It is a hike back up to each site but we promise, the view is worth the hike!
Is there electricity?
No electricity at any of bell tent sites or A-Frame Cabin. The bathhouse and outhouse run off of the sun and there are no outlets for a hairdryer or curling iron. One less thing to pack :). We provide a charger for your phone/tablet in each tent. If you stay multiple days we can charge it for you during the day and return it to you at dusk.
The Geodesic Dome has electricity with several outlets.
Where is the bathroom?
The bathhouse and outhouse are located approximately 250 feet from each site. Our big top tent is about 350 feet away. It also has its own port-a-potty if you need to go in the night and don’t want to walk that far. It is an outhouse with a modern seat. No flushing water - just a pit. It’s not scary - we promise! It’s all part of the experience.
The bathhouse has a hot water rain shower indoors and an outdoor shower for those hot summer days.
The Geodesic Dome has its own en-suite bathroom including heated floors, rain shower, flushing toilet and sink.
Can we have a bonfire?
Absolutely! Each site has its own fire pit equipped with a lighter, fire starter, bucket of water and one bundle of firewood. If you would like more firewood it is available for $7 a bundle and we can drop it at your site. If it is exceptionally dry and there is a fire ban… no fires are allowed.
Are children allowed?
Children over 6 years of age are allowed in our big top tent. We strive to provide a quiet and relaxing environment for our guests. If your kids are old enough to join—it is an incredible experience and a lot less stressful than putting a tent up on your own!
